Roof Repair Smedway built its Roof Leak Repair division around one idea: homeowners in Newport deserve a straight answer, a fair price, and a truck in the driveway fast.
Roof Repair Smedway didn't start as a franchise looking for a market to plant a sign in. Our crews trained on real tear-offs, real ridge vents, and real attic inspections in Newport, RI before we ever put a truck on the road under this name.
Ask any Roof Repair Smedway crew lead for a copy of our license and certificate of insurance and they'll hand it over before you even finish the sentence — that's standard practice here, not a special favor.
We've seen what happens when a roof gets "good enough" instead of done right — the drywall stains, the mold behind the insulation, the second call nobody wanted to make. Our Roof Leak Repair teams build to avoid that call entirely.
Verified licensing across Newport, RI with documentation available on request.
A tarp-down call at 2 a.m. gets the same urgency as one at 2 p.m.
No surprise charges once the crew is already on your roof.
Faster arrival times because the truck was already nearby.
By the time water is visibly dripping into a room, the damage underneath the surface has usually been developing for a while.
Asphalt shingles shed protective granules as they age, and a gutter full of grit usually means the surface layer is wearing thin.
Shingle edges that curl upward have usually lost flexibility, which makes them far more likely to crack or blow off in the next storm.
Climb into the attic on a sunny day — if you see pinpricks of daylight, water can get through the same gaps.
A yellow-brown ring spreading across a ceiling almost always traces back to a roof leak, even if the leak point is several feet away from the stain.
Poor roof ventilation or compromised insulation from a slow leak can quietly push cooling costs up month over month.
A visible bare patch after a windstorm means the roof's weather barrier has a direct gap that needs covering immediately.
Whether it's a single emergency tarp or a full system replacement, each service below is handled by technicians who specialize in that exact scope of work.
Emergency dispatch covers downed limbs through the roof deck, storm-torn flashing, and wind-lifted shingle sections that need immediate coverage.
Every residential estimate walks the homeowner through material options, from standard architectural shingles to impact-rated upgrades.
We schedule commercial jobs around business hours whenever possible, minimizing disruption to tenants, staff, or foot traffic.
Old, layered shingle systems often need a full tear-off rather than an overlay, and we'll tell you honestly which one your roof actually needs.
A thorough inspection checks flashing, fasteners, ventilation, and granule loss — the small issues that turn into major leaks if left alone.
Chimney crickets, skylight seals, and valley flashing are common leak points that general handyman work often gets wrong — our crews treat them as their own scope.
A dispatcher takes down your address, roof type, and the issue, then routes it to the nearest available crew in Newport, RI.
A technician walks the roof, checks the attic side when accessible, and documents the damage with photos.
You receive an itemized, written estimate before any work begins, covering materials, labor, and disposal.
A final walkthrough confirms the repair or install meets the agreed scope before the invoice is closed out.
Crews dispatched from within Newport, RI reach most Newport calls faster than out-of-area companies quoting a two-week wait.
We'd rather lose a job over an honest price than win one with a lowball number that grows later.
Crews carry moisture meters, infrared scanners for larger jobs, and proper fall-protection gear on every site.
If something about the finished work doesn't meet the agreed scope, we come back and make it right.
We've worked with enough adjusters across Newport, RI to know what documentation actually gets a claim approved faster.
Our technicians explain the reasoning behind every recommendation so you're deciding with full information, not a sales script.
We put our workmanship guarantee in writing on every job, so if something about the completed work doesn't match what was agreed, we send a crew back at no extra charge.
If a crew leader finds something during teardown that changes the scope, you'll hear about it before it changes your bill, not after.
We keep multiple crews staged across Newport, RI so that a storm hitting one part of the region doesn't leave the rest of Newport waiting.
If a storm system moves through Newport, RI and call volume spikes, we prioritize active leaks first and communicate realistic wait times for everything else rather than leaving people guessing.
